ALEXANDRIA -- The ROCORI Spartans football team fell to Alexandria on Friday night in their second road game of the 2018 campaign.
The Spartans came up short against the Cardinals, 24-12 in Alexandria.
ROCORI was the first team to get on the board in the game during the first half of action, scoring with 6:40 left in the second quarter. Quarterback Jack Steil scored the first touchdown of the game for either team, it coming on a four-year touchdown run to put the Spartans ahead of the Cardinals 6-0. ROCORI attempted to complete a two-point conversion, but was stopped at the goal line.
Trailing 24-6 midway through the fourth quarter, the Spartans offense struck again, this time from quarterback Camdyn Bauer, who ran 80 yards for a touchdown. ROCORI was unable to convert on the two-point conversion to trail Alexandria 24-12, which would end up being the final score.
With the loss, the Spartans fall to 0-4 overall as they hit the midway point in the 2018 regular season. ROCORI will begin the home stretch of the regular season next Friday (Sept. 28) back at home against the Princeton Tigers at 6 p.m. in Cold Spring.
