COLD SPRING -- The ROCORI Spartans football team came up just short to the Big Lake Hornets in week six of the 2018 high school football regular season on Friday night.

Big Lake got on the board first in the game, scoring in the second quarter to go up 7-0. After adding another touchdown in the third quarter to go up 14-0, ROCORI answered back with a score of its own in the final frame of play.
After a 200-yard, five-touchdown performance in the Spartans' win last week, Matt Koshiol got ROCORI in the endzone with a 56-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. That would end up being the only scoring play in the game for the Spartans, who ultimately fell short.

Defensively, Brock Humbert led ROCORI with seven tackles in the game, followed by Isaac Massmann six tackles including one sack.
ROCORI totaled 236 yards in the game, including 186 on the ground. The Spartans held Big Lake to just 172 total yards, highlighted by allowing just 79 rushing yards.
With the loss, the Spartans fall to 1-5 on the season as they head into week seven next week. ROCORI will travel to face Hutchinson at 7 p.m. next Friday (Oct. 12) in Hutchinson.
