HUTCHINSON -- The ROCORI Spartans football team fell on the road during week seven of the 2018 regular season on Friday night.
After a pair of home games, the Spartans were back on the road in Hutchinson, dropping their game against the Tigers 25-8.
Hutchinson jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter with a touchdown and a failed extra point, but ROCORI responded quickly later on in the quarter to grab its first lead of the game.
In the first quarter, the Spartans got on the board thanks to a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jack Steil to Andrew Anderson to get ROCORI in the endzone. Steil once again found Anderson to complete a two-point conversion to put the Spartans ahead 8-6.
That score would end up being the first and last for ROCORI, which ended up ultimately dropping the game.
Offensively, Steil led the way for the Spartans with 93 yards rushing on 14 carries, while going 7-for-16 with 47 yards passing and one touchdown. Matt Koshiol tallied 36 rushing yards on seven carries and Anderson finished with three catches for 27 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, Luke Humbert led ROCORI with nine tackles. Anderson added eight tackles, Isaac Massmann had 7.5 tackles and one sack and Brock Humbert finished with seven tackles.
With the loss, the Spartans fall to 1-6 on the season and will wrap up the regular season schedule at 7 p.m. Wednesday against the Willmar Cardinals on the road in Willmar.
